Bipoc Cr8
BIPOC culture is often misrepresented or not represented at all in anime and cartoons. Taking matters into our own hands is a necessary step to create a vision that generations to come can be proud of and aspire to. I will feature a collection of art pieces that take Japanese anime characters or western cartoons and reimagine them as BIPOC characters. As an example, see the figure below for a before and after of the iconic anime Hunter x Hunter, illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi. It was a pleasure to craft my version of Gon Freecss as a Caribbean island boy from St. Vincent and Killua Zoldyck as an African Nigerian boy, ready to unleash their powers.
